HOME

HOME is an incredible educational movie with the message, "It's too late to be pessimistic". I saw it tonight on French television, but it is being shown in theaters and in public spaces all over the world free. You can download or watch it free by going their YouTube Channel now!

This is the statement by the director/writer, Yann Arthus Bertrand who has fought hard to bring this event about and make this film. He is currently being sued by a number of American Companies who have tried to restrict the information in the film. India consfiscated over half the footage he shot as sensitive material. Sensitive?

This film is dangerous because it is so moving and direct. The problems we face as a specie on this planet are spelled ouut in no uncertain terms and the reasons are demonstrated graphically. I suppose if I was the head of an Industrial agricultural Multinational corporation or a petro chemical corporation, well, yes, I might feel threatened by the sensitive material in this film.

Judging by the comments on YouTube, the global warming deniars are out in full force.
You really see that these guys are a politically mobilized group and the level of the comments reminds me of the YouTube cultural wars played out during the Tibetan protests in China before the Olympic Games.
With this, though, you have to wonder how much money is being spent to try to influence opinion by troll comments on YouTube! Today, millions of people worldwide will see this film. Take the time to see it, also.
Here are Yann's comments:

We are living in exceptional times. Scientists tell us that we have 10 years to change the way we live, avert the depletion of natural resources and the catastrophic evolution of the Earth's climate.

The stakes are high for us and our children. Everyone should take part in the effort, and HOME has been conceived to take a message of mobilization out to every human being.

For this purpose, HOME needs to be free. A patron, the PPR Group, made this possible. EuropaCorp, the distributor, also pledged not to make any profit because Home is a non-profit film.

HOME has been made for you : share it! And act for the planet.

Yann Arthus-Bertrand
