Reasonable Americans, Democrats, Republicans, Independants, are quietly appalled by the rise of hate lnaguage, the increase in the shrillness of the rhetoric used by the extreme right in American discourse today.
This is how a great democracy crumbles and it has almost happened before.
Will we sit on our hands, helpless, too timid to act? AGAIN?

What a wonderful video. Maybe this is the way to convince people that the right-wing hate talkers are off base, by comparing them to McCarthy
It would be a good idea, Mike, but too few of them know much if anything about history. They're too dull to get the connection.
The insanity of the McCarthy era was self correcting. It backfired o n those who promoted it, albeit, not before alot of good people were irrepairably damaged.
I think this latest craziness promoted by the far right will meet the same fate.

Muddy is correct that the blowhard TEA baggers and the likes don't know much about their own U.S. history to get the connection.

too bad the video got removed from YouTube...perhaps some of the current talking heads in the video saw this going viral and protested.
I think Mr. Engineer is more close to reality as far as this cycle of insanity is going.
People are being hurt and will be hurt, whether or not this idiocyy is contained now or later.
Mr. Beck and his friends throw the terms Communist and Stalinist around pretty loosely, but who is really conducting a pogrom?
Who is destroying reputations and creating fear for purely sensationalistic pseudo ideological reasons?
Who is cultivating fear driven hate in the hearts of the masses?
This is a real problem and it won't just gop away by wishing it to.
