An American Jihad

These clips were compiled by ThinkProgress of statements which could logically be shown that conservative political figures were in fact using rhetoric which might incite actual violence. The hyper exaggeration and dehumanization of ones opponent is one of the primeary tools of fascist violence. This is eliminationist rhetoric.
On the other hand, the incendiary statements are much the same as Islamic Fundamentalists use in inciting Jihad violence. Indeed, many extreme teabaggers when allowed to express their emotional irrational rage point to the insane acts of David Koresh in Waco, Texas and the Oklahoma City Bomber as the ultimate outcome of their rage if they do not have their way.
The politicians in the video, for the most part have denied that they ever made incendiary statements, but the video would suggest other wise.

It is racist, it is sectarian and it is irrational. It comes from a small portion of the American population who seem to believe they can enforce their fanatic beliefs through violent intimidation. This is how fascism operates.
Can the majority of Americans who seem to support the progressive social programs of the Obama administration resist and reject this rhetoric?

Hey Microdot,
It is good to see you back my friend as we have missed you.

One more that this clip missed was Sarah Palin’s list of Democratic Congressman where she refers to these Congressmen as TARGETS with their photos within cross hairs of a rifle scope. If this does not give the subliminal message to sniper assassinate those whom she does not agree within her limited mind….well I am sure some SICK Teabaggers will attempt it along the way. It may not be a Congressman but maybe any person who is not on the extreme side of their politics.

I am truly amazed at the attitude of people in the US to political violence and how it can be considered an acceptable option.

Glad that you are back, perhaps stronger than ever!

It comes from a small portion of the American population who seem to believe they can enforce their fanatic beliefs through violent intimidation. This is how fascism operates.

There is some in the blogosphere who caution us not to use Nazi references because it somehow paints the person as a nincompoop- not a person with serious debate skills.

I'll take that chance.

Microdot wonders [quote above] 'how a small portion of the American population can enforce their fanatic beliefs through violent intimidation.'

Substitute 'German population' for 'American' and you would be reading the history of the growth of Nazism in Germany in the early 1930's. There is a direct and recent parallel and it is all documented in history.

I might take exception to a direct nazi reernce, but the historical use of the same tools to control the mob and incite fascist violence are an established fact.
