J.J.

JJ Cale made classic American Music that bridged genres and influenced so many artists who were so much more commercially successful than he ever aspired to be. His first recording was in 1961 and he kept on doing it up to the end. He wrote "After Midnight" and "Cocaine". JJ Cale Has Passed Away.
JJ Cale passed away at 8:00 pm on Friday July 26 at Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, CA. The legendary singer / songwriter had suffered a heart attack.  http://www.jjcale.com/

it is a generational thing, and we are all dying out. As a generation goes so goes their (our) music.

JJ Cale never ever achieved the level of appreciation he deserved in relationship to the real influence he had on so many musicians. Buzzard man, you are right about music changing with generations, but in my universe, which tries to be timeless..the really great stuff never dies. We educate the next generation and they keep it going.
